The Scoldees - Band Bio

The Scoldees are a four piece Acoustic Rock band with firm roots in Folk Rock. The members have a long history as friends and as musicians they describe their alliance as "a band of long-time buds that keep getting themselves into trouble by having way too much fun." Their well-disposed relationships to one another seemingly acts as the cement in this band and most likely creates the perfect environment to create, share musical ideas and provide the incentive to keep going. The Scoldees are: Nancy Sirianni (Lead Vocal/Guitars), John Hoffmann (Lead
Vocal/Guitar), John Collis, also known as JC (Percussion/Vocals) and Ted Rydzewski (Bass/Vocals).

Their recent CD entitled "My Pathetic Life" consists of eleven tracks that range from Rock to Pop, World Fusion to Folk Rock. Founding members, Nancy Sirianni and Jack Hoffmann initially found some repute with their Long Island, New York based trio "All Folked Up", which also included the current bass player of the Scoldees, Ted Rydzewski.

From there, Nancy and Jack teamed up with a third singer/songwriter, Bill Mignoli, and independently released the self-entitled "Big Orange Marble" CD, to which the pair credits "some minor national success". Where do they stand now? Sirianni and Hoffmann, with several years of fruitful songwriting behind them, expound upon their current situation: "with the additional songwriting with John Collis, and subsequent collaboration with producer John Michel, who joins the band on drums and percussion, we have found the perfect environment for our earthy blend of vocals. The sound is an organic fusion of rich harmonies, chunky guitars, fluid bass, with old, and some new world percussion; an eclectic acoustic style that has been called everything from progressive to pop." Musical Influences?

The Scoldees credit Neil Young, The Beatles, Sean Colvin, Lyle Lovett and Sting. Entertainers run in Nancy Siriannis family her husband is Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling probably best known as a fixture on the Howard Stern Radio Show. The Scoldees are based in East Norwich, New York.
